Paul is celebrating his 130th birthday this year! The history of these bakeries began five generations ago in the North of France. The brand is now present in 50 countries with more than 750 shops. With so many addresses, Paul prepares the end-of-year celebrations to offer his customers breads, logs, pancakes kings and other delicacies. His Christmas 2019 will be under the sign of tradition.

I had a glimpse of what the brand was preparing for the occasion. Appointment in its shops from December 17 to January 2 to enjoy, or from December 4 for the Epiphany.

For the end of the year, Paul concocts festive salty dishes: surprise breads (I love it!), Etc.



Bread for the holidays
Paul plans to offer a variety of breads for the holidays, so that each dish can be accompanied, if desired, with the bread that goes best with him. On the menu: nut breads, fruit croque (combining apricots, grapes and hazelnuts), figs or rye with honey and five fruits.

You know me, I am always attracted to chocolate. I have tasted the logs with the eyes so can only describe their composition.

Visually, impossible to resist the chocolate praline crown (6 people, € 29.50), consisting of a crunchy praline, a sponge cake, a mousse 70% cocoa, all coated with a black mirror glaze chocolate. The beautiful decor is chocolate pinecones and milk chocolate dark chocolate holly leaves.



Paul has also designed five logs for 4 or 8 people:

the raspberry-blackcurrant log consists of a dacquoise with almonds, a raspberry mousse, a cassis mousse and blackcurrant marbles (4 people, € 19.50)


the exotic log consists of a dacquoise with almonds, a coconut mousse and a mango compote, passion pitaya (4 people, 19,50 €)
Santa's cottage log made of a Gianduja chocolate mousse, a dacquoise biscuit, a crunchy praline and a biscuit roof with a spoon (4 people, 19,50 €)



a praline chocolate log made of a dacquoise with almonds, a laminated praline, a cocoa sponge cake and a 70% cocoa chocolate bavaroise, mirror glaze (4 people, € 19.50)

Paul bakeries have planned other sweets for Christmas:

pure butter brioche reindeer, in nature version (2 €) or chocolate (2,10 €)
brioche Christmas trees pure butter with chocolate chips (2,20 €)



a coconut macaroon (3 €), consisting of two shells meringue with almonds and a ganache with coconut


Christmas lollipops (2,30 €) with milk chocolate, available in some shops


a set of 12 mini Christmas macaroons (10,40 €), a limited edition assortment including: chestnut cream, passion-chocolate, salted butter caramel, cherry confit, blackcurrant confit and citrus confit


The Epiphany 2020 Paul bakeries
Paul plans several kings galettes, for all tastes:

with frangipane, the only one to find in all the shops and proposed from 3,30 € the share to 21,30 € for 8 people
with lemon citron (4 people, 14,90 €)
with apples (from 3,30 € the share to 18,50 € for 6 people)
If you are rather team brioche or wish to vary the pleasures, the brioche crown with candied fruits will also be proposed in several formats, of 3.15 € the briochette individual to 16,20 € the 600 grams.

The box of pretty beans to collect is sold 10 €.
